Elder John arrived in Ljubljana on Tuesday December 15 at 12:36 pm on ADRIA flight #285. It was a long flight from SLC to JFK to Vienna and a short hop to Ljubljana. John called us from JFK and it was so good to talk to him. He met another Elder who was traveling to Russia and found out that he was from Medina,OH and his parents are in the ward that shares our building. I will have to get the names later. It is a small world after all. Unfortunately our phone conversation was cut off. We were glad to hear in an email that he arrived with only one problem, NO LUGGAGE! Thank goodness for mission secretaries and all they do for the missionaries. John has been assigned to work in Ljubljuana in a bourough called Brezigrad. He says he loves it and it is so pretty and pretty cold. We are watching the weather via internet and the temperatures in Ljubljana are pretty close to those here in Cleveland. It sounds like it gets a bit colder at night as we are still warmed up by Lake Erie at night, but not for long. His new companion is Elder Fowler and John was excited that he managed to get one contact using his Slovene. Church was good on Sunday. He could understand the Branch President some, but not the other speakers.

So happy to hear that our sons made it to Slovenia safely! Ben's first area is Maribor. It is in the northeast corner of Slovenia near the Austrian border. He is so excited to be there and to start teaching the gospel to the Slovene people! I have enjoyed reading John's blog! Merry Christmas to you and your family!
